    Quick question for ya!

Does vBulletin have the ability to have a 'counter' for the PM section? I know some software systems have a meter that will tell you the percentage of stuff in your PM box. Like '56% full'.

Does vBulletin have something like that? If so, how hard would it be to add it here?

vBulletin offers something similar to that in version 3, and it can definatly be hacked into version 2 (which this site runs).

See, the only knowledge I have of vBulletin is as a member of GT. I don't have experience with the mod/admin features of it.

If you're having trouble with "inbox full", check your sent and message tracking folders. I had messages going back to April...:)

Thanks,As I found out today its a easy thing to clean them out once someone alerts you and lets you know their full but there is no way to tell when its full without the alert.

Meanwhile you could be missing some very important PM's.

You can get an email notifying you that your inbox is full. I do, just find that option setting under your GT options.

True. But, I like the idea of being able to tell just how full my box is before it is 'too late'. I was wondering if the software on GT had the capability.

Ox, on the GT Home page (where you log in), there should be a message under "Private Messages" that says something like:

DJ Niner - You have 0 new message(s) since your last visit.
(You have 0 unread messages and 79 total messages in all your folders.)

I believe the max number you can have is 100, so adding a percentage sign to that last number should tell you where you're at, capacity-wise.

    I think. ;g

That's what I have always used to gage how full my PM box is but the problem is since we now have so many forums I go straight into my User CP to look at my subscribed forums so I can avoid the clutter and once your in your User CP they is no way to tell unless you physically go to your PM boxes and count the messages. I imagine I am not alone in this practice.

I have wondered how the system was set up. Does it go by the total number of PMs? Or, does it go by total file space used?

Number of PM's. they aren't stored in 'files' per say, but in a database with lots of tables and rows and fields and stuff.
