I always used ArmorAll but it just seems to end up all over the side of your vehicle when you go down the road. I just got a new to me 4Runner and the tires looked great and whatever it was didn't end up all over the side of it.

So tell me what you guys use to get the shiny look on your tire? :wavey:

Nothing. Tires aren't supposed to be shiny. :wavey:

Years ago, a high school friend of mine who kept his car spotless, used Armorall on the leather bench seats of his car. When he turned a corner, we had trouble staying put!

A pressure gage and air hose is what I use on my tires. I missed the memo that said "tires are supposed to be shiny".

When I used to like shiny tires, I'd use armor-all. You wipe it on and then take a shop towel and wipe it off. It gives it a sort of muted gloss but no sling.

I heard a lot of people use Meguiars Endurance tire gel. I tried that once back in the day but ended up returning it, I can't remember the reason why though.

Yep regular old armor all...Not the foam junk...Spray it on the sidewall and wipe off with a retired bath towel...make sure tires are dry before applying..

I use that Armor All gel! Just sparingly though cause it gets all over the place!

I have always thought tires make or break a vehicle's appearance, mine looked so nice and clean when I drove it off the lot, now it doesn't. :crying:

Mud is the proper surface finish for a 4x4 tire.

Perhaps a shine on tires is OK if you have a set of 20" pimp wheels. Personally, I focus more on air pressure and rotation.

Perhaps it's ok to skip the tires if you drive a rusted '87 Taurus. :tongueout:

Go look @ two decent cars, let's' say '09 M3's. One properly detailed, including tires, one where it was only washed/waxed.
Which will look better? If you say the latter, you're doing it wrong. :tongueout:

    Damn right!

I've always used the gel stuff that's specifically made to be applied to tires and have never had a problem with it coming off. I buy whatever brand comes with a foam applicator and gives me the most product for the least money. Most recently I've used Black Magic.

although i don`t try to shine them,i do clean them when i wash and wax the cars.
i use meguires black magic tire cleaner.i spray clean once and if you want them shiny try doing it twice that`s about as much shine as i go for.
i knwo a guy that uses meguires hot shine gel on his show car and the tires shine like crazy, its a trailer queen though.

    Agreed, 100%!!!

My former B-I-L used ArmorAll on my sister's '70 Pontiac LeMans.
She learned to use her seatbelt, when she slid over to the passenger seat, driving to work one day!
