While at SHOT I received word the HexMag is going to be producing Glock magazines. The conversation I had them was pretty funny. I honestly don't know why they are enter in the Glock mag market since it seems most don't want to leave OEM:

Me: what will the MSRP be for the Glock Mag?
Hexmag Rep(HM): It will be around $30
Me: ...(apparently he caught my WTF look)
HM: How much do you think they should go for?
Me: well I can find OEM for around $25 and magpul is around $15
HM: well we don't have many parts just the mold, I don't know what the price will be.

    Not a good first impression

Agreed. Not even sure why they would enter the Glock mag market. You guys like your OEM mags

They won't sell any if they are $30 a pop. There has to be a reason to buy a product.

So either the Hex would have to be a better product than Glock OEM mags (highly unlikely) or they would have to be just as good as Magpul Pmags and sell for the same price or lower than the Pmags.

Either way, they are bold in this decision. On the contrary, Hexmag is a company that produces quality product. Iv never had a hiccup with their AR mags.

$30 is crazy. I pretty much stick with stock pistol mags, except now I'm buying mainly PMAG Glock mags. Haven't had any issues with them and for almost half the price it just makes sense.

Most of the time at SHOT they will only say what the MSRP price is.

You can buy OEM mags around $18.00 when on sale, it's kind of hard justifying buying anything else.

I've never worn out a magazine. I bought as many OEM as I needed and the job is done.

Yeah, OEM is always the best bet for mags, unless you're messing with MilSpec AR mags. The MagPuls are okay, but I don't, personally, need more than maybe a dozen mags. For the GSSF guys who show up with a beer case full, it may be another matter.
The price point is a mystery.

If they would have made a 15 round G17 magazine, and released it 2 years ago, they could have sold many. I say this, because they make 15 round AR magazines. The last rifle match I shot in NJ, everybody had these, and 4 or more each.
