i always make a new little skinner/hunter model each year before deer season. this is my effort this year. it is 1095 with black dymond wood scales. OAL is 7.5" with a 4" blade. just needs a little leather and it is ready for the woods.

Great job, that looks top notch! Love the wood! Excuse my ignorance, but I've never seen, a rectangular cut out, like that, on the top of the blade. Usually, I see that style of skinner with a zipper blade. What is that cut for, if you don't mind?

the notch is just for looks. i put a notch on a model a while back and started getting a lot of requests for it on other knives. so, they just kinda became my thing. just something to make the profile more interesting.

Gotcha! No wonder I have never seen it before, because it's your original. If I could make a suggestion? Make the cut, into a workable, "Church Key"! I know what I like to do after a successful day of hunting.

oh, it is all homegrown. i am a full-time knife maker. i like to make things i have never seen before. that is why i started forging way back when. i wanted the knives in my imagination and nobody was making them. so, i learned to do it myself. it is the most challenging thing i have ever done. that is what keeps me throwing sparks. here is an album of what i am offering at the moment. my full website is still in the works. http://s575.photobucket.com/albums/ss192/NicholaiHel/Liontribe Blades/
