I remember someone wishing for new submarine PC games...

UbiSoft is coming out with a sub game, called "Silent Hunter III", to be released Feb 2005.

I loved a Sub game years ago...

    like 8 years ago.

It may have been one of the Silent hunter games series, but I think it was Wolf somthing or a similar name.

it had a sonar room where you could watch the water fall and the sonar blips and listen to them and try and figure out if it was a target or a pod of wales or sea trash.

It was really neat (I think it cost about $50 back then) I wish i could find it now, I like to get some of my old game out and play them occasionaly.

Back in the day, I spent many hours playing 688 Attack Sub on my Amiga 500.

SKYWLKR IIRC that was 688I Seawolf or something like that... Good game.

I always like Aces of the Deep. Had some bugs but was a good one.

Anyone ever hear of a game called Sub Command? I think it's a update to the 688/I series. It's really good. It has the 688/I L.A. class boats with the vertical launch tubes, the new Seawolf class boats that are awesome, and the Russian Akula subs with all kinds of freaky weapons like a cruise missile that drops a torpedo. I've heard from real sub crewman that the game is VERY accurate the way the systems work. The game has Mission Editor to make your own levels and you can play online with a voice-control feature. If you like nuke-sub games like 688/I, this game is a must! I picked it up for $20 but have seen it as cheap as $10. Well worth it.

It's the name of some type of marine life. It's also the name of the lead boat of fleet subs in WW2.
