    Job offering for Florida guys
Found this on another website. Said it was on Ft. Myers Craigslist:

    To all who are interested,

We are gathering 100 officers for deployment to Haiti with a deployment date
within the next 3 weeks. We will get a 72 hour notice of when we will
deploy. All officers will deploy from Miami, and be on a 90 day rotation.
Here are the details I know so far:

    100 officers

have D and G current FL Lic. and a valid Passport. (no exceptions) Pay is
$1100.00 per week per officer. you will be contracted so
you will all be 1099 at the end of the year for tax purposes.
NO WEAPONS. Weapons are already in country. THEY WILL BE PROVIDED BY
    CONTRACTOR
Uniforms will be provided by contractor.
Limit one checked bag per person. Bring deployment gear(PANTS, T-SHIRTS,
    UNDER GARMENTS, SOCKS, BOOTS, ETC...)
Accommodations will be in tents, all food and drink provided
Flights to Haiti will be chartered.
Shifts will be "A" and "B" 6 days a week.
Some of you will be stationary, some will rotate sites
90 day rotation, with one week off after the 90 days
We have a 1 year contract. So we will be in country for no less than 1 year

$1100.00 per week in a Haiti situation doesn't seem like much at all...

Time and a half to go spend up to a year in a ****hole trying to help people that don't want you there. No thanks- I'd be happier staying here with straight time.

Maybe they ACCEPT the phone calls instead. Weak pay to live in a tent, get eaten by bugs, and probably end up with dysentery or worse. Pass

I sent them an e-mail even though I'm not an officer nor from FL.

Hell, with some USMC experiance and a BS in CRJU, I may be worth "something" to them. :)

My Guard unit called me Friday and asked if I wanted to go for 90 days. I said mmm NO.. just got back from GTMO. Had my fill of 95 degrees days. Plus we are a Civil Engineer unit we would be doing all the crap work.

A couple guys that are out of work volunteered.

No way - I couldn't afford the pay cut. Six days a week, one week off every three months, and for $2600 a month less? Forget it.

The 1100 a week is just the above board pay. You are supposed to get the rest from all the money that will be flowing into that place. Just have to beat the locals that know how to scam everyone already.

$1100 a week? That has to be a joke. I've been there pre-quake, no way in hell I would go back there now.
