They work very well. Have seen and tested a few of them. However, there have been problems ordering from this guy in the past. I haven't heard much recently though. Shark suppressors are supposedly a good product, but the owner is a full time airline pilot. So until he gets his business up to full swing, there is a considerable wait time.

A suppressor works much the same way as a muffler on a car does.

Now days they probably use cheaper materials to make them but none the less they all work on the same principal.

The ones that use good materials use metal screen.

You roll up metal screen stick it in a tube and then add a washer with the exact same size hole in it as the diameter of the bullet.
The hole in the washer must be the same size diameter as the bullet to keep the gases from going around the bullet and push the gases up into the screen.

You add maybe a couple inches of rolled up screen in the tube and then put a washer in and then roll up a couple more inches of screen and put a washer etc. etc. etc.
The longer you make it the less noise you hear.

I thought about making one that would sound like a car horn or a dog barking when the gun is fired.
This would get around the law that says you can not muffle the sound of gun fire.
And by the sound of a dog barking no one is going to pay as much attention as hearing a gun shot.
    One of my someday projects.
