I am starting to aquire parts for my unlimited gun.
I already have the G34, KKM G17L barrel, light weight striker spring, and comp. trigger spring.
Within the next 3 weeks I will be getting a Carver mount, C-More, and extended tungsten guide rod.
The question is whether or not to get a brass magwell to offset some of the forward weight that I'll be adding to the gun.
What do you 'in the know' shooters say?

Thanks for helping a 'soon to be getting his butt kicked in unlimited' newbie.

Go with the brass magwell, you'll be glad you did. The weight will help with recoil as well. What kind of load are you planning on using?

I have one on mine and really like it. I used it on my G34 with 17L barrel and now I have switched back to the full 17L and think it is a good addition.

I will go along with Don At PC and Fireglock. I also use the Lighting Strike Extended Magazine Pad. And Lighting Strike Aluminum Trigger.

Thanks for the replies FireGlock and Don.

I kinda figured that I'd want the magwell so I'll add it to the list.

As far as the load goes I'm undecided. I have been shooting wwc, wsp, 4.6 Universal, 115cmj or 124jhp Montana Gold @ 1.142. Very accurate in both G17 & G34. Since I just got a pound of Ramshot True Blue I'll probably work up a 'powder puff' load with some 147cmj Montana Golds.

This brings another question to mind. Do you use different loads for unlimited and stock meister or do you use the lightest load that will cycle both guns and use that across the course?

I use the same load in both guns.

Hey FireGlock, I'am glad you did'nt give out your load data. You need to be very very careful in giving out that info. You might want to check with the man that give it to you before you past out that kind of info. ;f ;a ;f

BTW, just pulling your chain a little. ;)

Yep, you're right. The fellow that gave me that load helped me win some guns, damned nice of him. :) But it does take a little more than a great load, since I haven't beat the guy that gave me the load, it must take more!

Fireglock and Don are correct in their recommendation if you like a weighted gun (I do). I set up my 34 and 24 about the same and like the heavier weight. I also use the Taylor Freelance brass base pads.

We do know a little about aiming fluid also.

    Good luck.

Roger, on the "Aiming Fluid" a very important part of the equation.
