So I picked a nice 16” upper for cheap so I’ve ordered a lower for it. It’s my second build.

I want to lower sound/blast reduction as much as possible. I’ve got some minor hearing issues and wondering if a linear comp on a 16” barrel would be a problem?

    any recommendations?

Black river tactical linear comp. Short OAL very effective. Helps a lot on my 12.5", so much so that I'm thinking getting one for my 16."

You're exactly right, a linear comp is what you want. I got the one from Kaw Valley

I have all the tinitus I need, no thank you to more

Also, in case you don't, double up on ear pro. Use swimmer ear plugs and muffs atop those

Yes it's noticeable, I wouldn't call it big but have someone shoot your rifle next to another 16" with a typical birdcage using same ammo and yes you'll notice it.

KAW Valley linear comp. The bigger the better.

Price is good certainly. I think the price on Kaws are about $50.

Pleased to see so many endorsements of the KAW Valley... Got mine from "JoBob's" (https://www.joeboboutfitters.com/Default.asp) for under $40, possibly $45 with shipping... Came FeEX 2 day and arrived today!

Looks good on the 10.5" BEAST (at a Pistol/Rifle competition the RO remarked that my little beast was probably the LOUDEST AR15 he'd ever heard)

Now I can't wait to give er a try again to see what they say... LOL

No recommendations on muzzle device, but I do on the hearing issues. My wife has a congenital hearing loss that worsens with age. As of right now, she has about an 80% loss. We use both ear plugs and electronic muffs. I'd love to go suppressed personally, but with the size of our collection makes that cost prohibitive.

that’s tough. I helped a client with similar loss this week. It’s no joke. I’ve not shot much in the last yr, but will only shoot out doors now.

I did get the KAW linear combo and it looks sweet on the barrel. I’ve considered selling some glocks and going surprised but there’s always that joker in the lance next to you. Be safe.

Can use same suppressor on different rifles. Just get a 308 suppressor. Will not be as effective as calibur specific suppressor but only by a couple of decibels.
