Hi, after dealing with Rem for a new set of sights (front sight fell off after 100 rounds) I decided to add a few new parts to my R1.

Please recommend what to get, brand and model. all has to be drop in!

Thumb safety. (not amby)
Beavertail grip safety.
Hammer.
Trigger (long curved or long flat)

Thank you.
Please feell free to post pics of your R1.
Looking to do something like these fellow GT members R1's:wavey:

I am not sure but I have heard the parts are all tool steel instead of cast or MIM. If this is true then I am not sure just change them out to just change them gets you anything.
I mean I see it in the since of I like x trigger or so and so's safety and grip safety. I am just wonder if it might be better money spent to take it to a gunsmith and have the trigger tuned... just a thought not trying to step on toes just a suggestion

sorry did not realize it was not an enhanced R1 so please feel free to ignore

depends on what look you are after. some prefer the retro look and some prefer the more modern look. if it was my R1, I would prefer the retro look with the spur hammer, long solid curved trigger, crisp 4 lb trigger job, Harrison retro rear sight, and dovetailed serrated front sight and a reliability package. of course everything will be performed by a qualified gunsmith as there is not such thing as drop-in parts for 1911
