Help with gmail secondary account

I tried to setup secondary account, you have to verify email account. When get verification window for the code. Well wheres the verification code?. Under gmail:settings:accounts. To verify it will send the confirmation code. Some help please, also its not an alias account.

Links or actual instructions would soooooo helpful.

They send the verification code either to another email address you provided or as a text message.

I always get error message email to primary account


Delivery Status Notification (Failure)

or never get text message, all contact numbers google/gmail already given.
