    Guys,

I have a series of audio tapes I need to transcribe. I have Dragone Naturally Speaking (5.0 and 6.0). How do I get Dragon to transcribe this for me? Is this possible?

    Thanks!

    Well, maybe...

I have seen version 8 in action and I'm sure it could do this for you.

You just start a text app, instruct Dragon input the text, fire up a tape player, and walk away. Later you edit for spelling and context; that's it. Done deal.

Whether an earlier version would work as well remains to be seen.

    Good luck.

Is it your voice, or someone elses?

If it is your voice, be sure to train Dragon first.
If it is someone else's voice, it probably will not work.

Dragon worked well when I trained it and talked, but didn't work when I trained it and somone else talked.

Yeah, I was afraid of that... it's someone else's voice.

    I think you are screwed.

But it will only take a couple minutes to try it so...

Yeah, I tried last night, before I posted this thread. I couldn't do the training, since I didn't have a tape of the speaker's voice reading Dragon's training. I thought _maybe_ I could bypass that, and just play the tape, and then correct each word, and "train" Dragon that way. That didn't seem to work, so I thought I would ask on GT.

    Thanks for the help, anyway.
