This is my 4th gen g19 i just got. After having a g19 3rd gen with about 5,000 flawless rds thru it this one is a nightmare. 10 stove pipes in less than 400 rounds. All different ammo. Its going back to glock.

But, as I was cleaning it today and reassembling this happened! Im guessing i didnt line up the recoil spring so it went right thru the slide now I cant get it back off! Help please!

In the future, make sure that every time you reassemble the gun from field strip, even if you didn't take the guide rod and barrel out of the slide, that you fully seat the base of the guide rod into the crescent shaped notch in the barrel lug. That happened because you reassembled the gun when the base of the guide rod was not fully seated into that crescent shaped notch in the barrel lug. Whenever the gun is field stripped the base of the guide rod will move out of that notch, it must be re-seated before reassembly.

the one marked with a 4 i believe... Whichever one is the latest that is supposed to work (mine doesnt). Every round ejects off my forehead or ends up stovepiped.
Call Glock and tell them that it has erratic ejection. There's a new ejector for Gen4 to fix that problem, but Glock will want you to send the gun to them so they can install it. If they want you to send it to them, ask for a prepaid shipping label if they don't outright offer one.

The latest guide rod for the Gen4 G19 is the 0-4-3. It has 0 at 9 o'clock, 4 at 3 o'clock, and 3 at 6 o'clock.

yep thats the one I have.

It's just so disappointing after owning a g26 and a g19 that never jammed once in thousands of rounds to get this thing that is nothing but problems. I will be bringing it back to the dealer to send to glock.

I'd call Glock and tell them about that problem along with the erratic ejection and have them replace the guide rod at the same time.(I think they're closed right now, you may have to wait until tomorrow)

The base of the guide rod may be bent.

ok is it better to call them direct or just have the dealer do it? I just got it a week or two ago
It may be easier to have the dealer do it. If they're willing to handle it for you I'd go that route.

If it gets sent back to Glock it'll have the new ejector installed regardless of whether the erratic ejection was mentioned by the dealer as a problem.

The end with the 0-4-3 goes at the back of the slide. The other side of the RSA that is fatter goes up front. I just tried it backwards and that's what happened to my Gen 4 g17...:whistling: if you are doing it correctly then I would check the firing pin and make sure its pulled back. Until I swapped out my trigger assembly for a Gen three trigger bar I was having all sorts of issues reassembling the slide back on. There is a YouTube video of others who has had this issue of slide not coming into battery after disambly...good luck

My mistake and withdraw my statement of it being backwards. After looking at the picture I see it is correct. After you get it apart again reseat the guide rod. And try this. Push trigger forward and it should slide on..I know glocks don't do that. Pull trigger dissamble and point downwards and try pulling slide back on. Should work. Good luck!
