    I'd vote for water treatment.

It sure looks like a sewage treatment plant to me. Here is a shot of the Ocala, Florida sewage treatment plant. Fortunately, you can't smell it. You can if you drive past it.

It looks identical to the small sewage plant that is very near the home my daughter and family lived in Battle Ground, WA.

Follow up question. Are there water treatment plants that handle water other than sewage (toilet) waste? For instance, I note this property has a small lake near it. Could this plant perhaps treat rainwater and street runoff to use to supply the lake, or perhaps even continuously filter and replenish the lake?

I think that big circle is for treating the really nasty water so I don't think so.

There is a chance it is a fish hatchery though.

The labyrinth thing on the right looks similar to some fish hatchery stuff and they often use big round tanks. Also I do not see the labyrinth area in the other sewage treatment pics.

The round tank is a clarifier, where the majority of the suspended solids settle to the bottom. The arms in the middle constantly turn to rake the scum off of the top. The pond you see is likely the last stop for the waste water before it is released back out into the environment. They have gravel channels and rows built up in the bottom to slow and direct currents to that the remaining solids can settle, and the remaining "bad bugs" (bacteria) that made it past the chlorine (usually) can be killed off by the "good bugs" and the sun's UV rays.

They use similar ponds to treat drinking water, but I highly doubt a drinking water facility would have it out in the open air. So I'm guessing you REALLY don't want to be down wind of that.

Off-topic kinda...but that elementary school is named after my 1st grade teacher,,,,who also was my mom's 1st grade teacher.

Yes, that is a waste water treatment plant.

A very nice area to live in. I have quite a few friends that live in the area.

No fishing in the round tank. Indigenous game are called- Tapper Tail Carp and Wrinkle Neck Trout.
