I got this off of the family of the fellow that carried it in the War of Northern Aggression as a member of the 14th Connecticut Volunteers. The 14th Conn. were at many CW battels including Gettysburg.

A little off topic... We found the 3 monuments to Connecticut units that are at Gettysburg battlefield. I think at least 2 of them had shamrocks on them?
