I was at the range today, shooting a tactical-combat type course. I experienced numerous FTF's during this time. The problem was not isolated to one mag as 3 did the same thing. The FTF's didn't occur at the same location in the mags but most were around #'s 3-6. The mags are all factory 10rd. Ammo used was WWB 230gr FMJ. The G30 is a dreaded "E" series purchased in 5/02 but did have the frame upgrade in 5/03. All parts, minus sights are factory. The gun is completely cleaned, including mags, after every range session. As this is a duty weapon, the round count has to be somewhere near the 7500+ mark. Before it is said, I don't believe I "limp-wristed" it as I started paying close attention to grip, stance, etc. I had the range officer who is also a Glock Armorer check the weapon at the end of the session and he could find nothing apparently wrong. He even tried a quick lube and another 50rnds and still experienced occassional FTF's. I am thinking, maybe with this type of round count that a new recoil spring is needed? Or new mag springs? Any help is greatly appreciated.
