I think both of my slings are the Magpul variety where I can unclip the front sling attachment and clip it to the sling to convert it to a single point. Not that I ever do that, but it seems cleaner to me than the QD style that does the same thing.

If I'm being honest though, I don't actually like the QD style of attachment. I've had some pop loose before due to things like a collapsed stock depressing the buffer tube endplate mounted QD.

I'm tempted to go with clips on both ends but I have more than a few builds and a couple slings and am not sure I want to change everything up to be interchangeable.

In nearly 8 years of NRA match shooting, I tried a lot of slings. Offhand (standing) is done without a sling. The sling can be on the rifle but must be hanging loose.

In sitting and prone stages, the sling is a very important partner in use on the firing line. I tried the leather (expensive) slings and a host of others, but the GI M1 Garand sling was the best of them all! When the web sling fell out of favor, I bought a whole pile of them at a close out price and any rife needing a sling, got that same web sling.

The M1 Garand web slings have no "wow" factor, but there's no sling that will outperform them!

I have a few Magpul MS4 slings that use on my home built ARs. But for my primary AR I use a Blueforce Gear Vickers sling which I have had for years now,

Have you messed with the Magpul RLS?

I use the MS1 with a QD end plate and M-Lok QD mounts on the handguard.

I adjust the sling so its easy on with the slider at max extension but pressed close to my chest when as the shortest length, with the QD endplate, the weapon rides high and tight against my chest when the sling is shortened so its secured for hands free.

I have the M-Lok QD mount positioned on the handguard so when I wrap into the sling with a thumb over bore grip on the handguard, the sling/M-Lok mount works as a hand stop.

That's fine, I just don't see a socket or some way to attach on that handguard ?
Maybe your pic doesn't show it ?
This is the attachment I had in mind - it connects to the top but is offset to keep from interfering with the sights

My set-up. Sling labeled MS1 with a rear buckle labeled MS4 that has a couple holes for QDs. Rear is attached to a QD-fitted thingy (labeled MI) mounted on the front of the buffer tube. The front is attached to another thingy that I affixed under the front sight. Rifle is a 6920.

I was in the same situation with my first AR15 sling. I like the Defense Mechanisms sling. It is thin, 1” wide with elastic keepers that keeps the sling against the side of side of the rifle for storage. It has a rubber “dongle” you pull to deploy the sling. It doesn’t get tangled up when you grab it from a small space. You can still fire even when the sling is flat against the rifle. Check it out. I have no commercial relationship, just like the sling.

I would highly advise against using that front railed gas block as a sling point. That gas block will get to 300-400+ degrees in use. The rail is for a METAL front backup sight only.

Use the MLOK slots on the hand guards. The Magpul traditional sling attachment is bulletproof and more durable than a quick detach.

There's more than one way to skin a cat.

I hand a bunch of Fudd QD mounts in my parts box and guess what? Two of those front, threaded QD Fudd nuts are a perfect fit to the stock sockets and screwing the stud through them anchors the mount.

There was enough clearance under the gas block so I drilled a hole in the lower hand guard, reinforced it with kydex and put another one there. Now any sling in the house will work.

Here's a video of the M1 Garand web sling in action. The loop sling method is what most of the match shooters use in competition.

For best accuracy, it's important that with whatever sling you choose, the sling is attached to the forward stock assembly and not directly to the barrel.

The workmanship on these is awesome.
Not a stitch out of place and superb matrials.
There is a BFG Victory sling that you don't see advertised much, but you can get it at a lower price point.
Not a fan of any sling that uses slick, seat belt type material

Vickers padded VTAC sling. The nylon handle is great for grow motor skills to tighten and loosen the sling. It’s faster for me than the VTAC. Most of Larry Vickers’s offerings are good to go!

BLUE FORCE GEAR, Vickers sling, I've tried other but now I wont use anything else, has the slide adjusting tab that just works too smoothly, quality is outstanding, they also offer a sling keeper that holds the slack in place for a extra 7 bucks or so. they run around $60-100 buck depending on the options, like QD's, padded, metal slides etc, the basic 1 inch sling also the cheapest will last you a lifetime
