    Hi all...

Having a dad moment here... I'm trying to get my 10 y/o daughter's uniform up to snuff, and having some trouble. Hoping one of the parents here who have had a Girl Scout can help.

I've got all the basics in place, using the much-superior Boy Scouts 'Badge Magic' adhesive, instead of the dysfunctional iron-on approach the Girl Scouts seem enamored of.

However, I have left over three badges of a type not addressed in the guide http://www.girlscouts.org/program/gs_central/insignia/where_to_place/junior/

These are a boating, kayaking and gardening badge, each oddly shaped - the kayaking one looks like a kayak, the gardening one like a growing tomato plant, etc. These are clearly NOT the little round 'merit badge' style badges the guide shows going on the lower front of the vest.

I THINK these are the so-called 'participation patches', which the guide says should go on the back of the vest. But before I put them there permanently, I thought I'd check.

    Anyone?

And before anyone asks, I'm doing this because I'm a FAR better sewer than my wife, and as she says 'uniforms are your problem', as I did such a nice job putting together my son's cub scout uniform this year. :whistling:

Sorry to say I've got no idea -- but thanks for being a parent that's active with their kid's Scouting, and being worried about her appearance and the appearance of her uniform. The world could use more dads like you. :wavey:

Any way you can call another parent in the...uhh...troop? Den? Whatever it is they call Girl Scout groups?

Thanks... I called, and left messages, but it's getting late. I was just hoping to wrap it up tonight. Looks like it's going to be tomorrow.

According to my wife, anywhere on the back is OK. Start in the middle and work out.

That's what I remember. I think our troop started in the middle at the hem of the vest and worked up and out from there.

But don't take this as gospel. I haven't been a GS in nearly 20 years and only have boys now.

Hey Deanster! I wasn't thinking 'why is he doing this'. I was thinking: "30 years from now that girl will remember this'. :wavey:

I was a troop leader while my daughter was in GS.
