I have a Glock 3rd generation Model 20. I have ordered a KKM 6 incher for it. I am shooting some Masters ammo 180 FMJ which is I believe to top end (Velocity wise) of 10MM.

I want to order a Wolf heavy recoil spring.
Should I get the 20lb spring? Is there anything else I need to get with it?
Will the spring work with the OEM recoil rod that is in the gun right now?

    Thanks guys for your help.

If you are careful with taking apart the stock spring, you might be able to reuse. Most of Wolf springs are designed for aftermarket rods. Do an ebay search, you can get a SSrod/spring for about $22

Why do you want to change?

Your stock recoil spring assembly is just fine.

Was concerned that the recoil springs that were in the gun would batter the gun with heavy loads. I guess maybe not?

When the G20 was developed in 1989, the prototypes were each fired 25,000 rounds without failure before production models were released in 1990. Can you afford 25,000 rounds of 10mm ammo?

    Thanks guys.

This is typically true of many addon devices on the market.

    Not necessary

If you've already decided to use Wolff gun springs then why not also use Wolff's non-captured, coated steel, guide rod, too? (This is how we do it for 45 Super Glock pistols; and 10mm ain't got nothing on 45 Super.)
