many guns arent made in .40 anymore because they just dont sell.
Glock gen 5....
my lgs has cases full of used gen 3s and 4s in .40 gathering dust, why build a new one?
I do think they'll do line extensions based off the current model for quite sometime
I would jump all over a .380 that offered more capacity at just a bit more width than the Ruger LCP
The manufacturers are going to make whatever sells and right now, that is a 9mm.
Reliability with a WML?
More than a hunch? Inside information? You're among friends here and you can tell us, can't you?
He works for/with Springfield
Yes, 9mm is all the rage these days, which is fine with me.
I could see Springfield making a slightly larger and heavier Hellcat in 40 S&W, possibly 20% heavier with 8+1 capacity. Why? Because they have a history of offering lots of variants of their pistols. Croatian engineering talent must be cheap.
Just look at some of the goofy XD pistols they've made: large frames with subcompact slides, subcompact frames with 5" slides... They even hopped on the 45 GAP bandwagon shortly after Glock released the 37.
Yeah it may happen.
Of course, that would seem to defeat the purpose of a micro compact, in my opinion.
I'd buy one in .40...... and hopefully KKM or someone of the like would make a .357sig conversion barrel.
Me too, but the Hellcat and 365 platforms won't be it.
Yeah and that lasted like a year or two and was over.
What was the last .40 SA released?
They did a .9 inch wide 9, .40 and .45.
.40 will fit in a hellcat.
Either the XD-S Mod 2 or one of the EMP pistols.
Granted, SA hasn't put out an XD-E or a 911 in 40 S&W so maybe they won't try it with the Hellcat. Then again, they have tried to breathe new life into the 10mm, so who knows?
I am more curious about which company will enter the micro double-stack market next. S&W, for instance, has to see that the Shield is looking less competitive now. And Kahr should be scrambling to stay relevant, although I doubt that they will.
Liberty just introduced their 357Sig loading. I may have to go back to carrying one.
I know that ammo isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I like it.
Nobody lasted long with GAP, besides Glock.
Well considering they still aren't making the XDe or the XDs mod. 2 in .40 it probably won't happen anytime soon. (or ever imho)
As far as a .380 goes, not gonna happen either. If memory serves me correctly .380's are banned from import due to some stipulation of the GCA of '68. In order for Springfield to produce a .380 they would have to make it here in the USA. That would rule out any polymer versions from HS Produkt in Croatia.
