Sorry if this is a repost, but my search of New Glock turned up nothing: So, I thought the changes were actually good. For me, reaching the mag release easily require some repositioning of my hand. for the new model, not so much. The new model has a mag release that is larger, and three different back-strap size options. Also, instead of having the RTF grip texture or anygrip textures before it, it has more or less a larger version of the RTF texture, like small pyramids. The recoil spring aslo has changed to a dual spring setup much like that of the subcompacts. It was said to have a recoil reducing effect. I did not get to shoot it but I did get to hold it. It did fit my hands better. The glock representative said it had been through extensive testing, and form the look of his hands he was not lying when he said he took part. I know some of this is old news, but I was cautious to accept Glock changes as improvements. After seeing them first hand I do believe that the changes will benefit many users. According to the glock rep, the 17 and 22 are the only models going into production in this format so far. Older models will not be able to accept the new recoil assembly as the hole for the recoil assembly is larger in the newer model. Here are some facts as written by glock 1.Trigger housing pins short pin intitially mounted on pistol w/o backstraps. 2. MBS tool for removal and istallation of trigger housing pin. 3.Backstraps two different sizes included. +2mm, +4MM. 4. ONe extra magazine (3 total). http://glocktalk.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=250&pictureid=2458 http://glocktalk.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=250&pictureid=2461 http://glocktalk.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=250&pictureid=2459 these are the pics I can give, sorry if they repeat or the links don't work, look in my album pics on my profile if links dead end.
