Rumors that were going around when I came home in May is that the was the one who promoted the fight. Tickets were also made to appear scarce to jack up ticket prices (scalping).

    True or not?

whoever it was that promoted it... be it pacquiao, or FGMA, it was worth whatever was paid for... the fight was awesome... definitely the stocks of LARIOS will be raised after this... and now cements MANNY as the scourge of mexican boxers... (no offense to Mexicans on the board)

yup. Money Pakyaw was one of the promoters. :) as for the tickets, heard he spent Php 5M for freebies for his friends and relatives. :)

I remember someone here at GT selling upper box tickets at less than half price... I don't think that is so.

BTW, Manny Pacquaio Productions was definitely announced by Buffer, in partnership with dela Hoya's Golden Boy Prods... Pac promoting his own fight does make sense...

i am sure there are few people around the board who's anti-manny, pero mga pinoy din yan :) the guy is working hard to earn whatever is paid to him, so if he promotes his fights through his productions, it is still honest money... if ticket prices go way beyond the marked prices (scalping na nga), well, that is the law of business... higher demand, higher price... ninakaw ba naman niya sa atin???

that's a biblical principle... you sow generously, you reap generously...

Still, he is still a work in progress, as shown by his near debacle at round 3...

Kung si Prince Naseem Hamed yun o Morales, baka lumusot sya sa labas ng ring... tsk, tsk... :freak:

if it was any of the 3 kings of mexican boxing (morales, barrera, vasquez), he would have lost.

If you noticed the vertical straps on the ropes around the ring, you would have seen "MP Promotions".
