As I've said before, I'm remodeling my office. Each patient room is about 11' x 11' and will have a computer with monitor and a separate TV mounted on the wall. The TV will have a television connection and an ethernet cat6a cable running back to my switch. What is the best way to use the TV as a second monitor? A traditional 30'-ish long HDMI cable or using HDMI over ethernet? If I use HDMI over ethernet would I need a cat6a run directly from the computer to the TV or can I use the cat6a coming from the switch? I assume I cannot send a LAN signal and HDMI signal over the same cat6a cable. I'm looking for ease of cabling (ethernet cable being easier to pull than terminated HDMI), reliability, and signal quality. Thanks! Sometime in the future I would like to use a tablet and the TV, completely eliminating the work station in the room. Dunno when I'll make that jump.
