Well in all fairness Keltec beat them to it by a good 20 years with the P11 but the P11 has a crappy trigger.

The P11 is a double stack, so the equivalent of the G26. The G26 came out in '94, the P11 in'95.

Yeah it's a double stack... that's thinner than the G43.

The 365 is also a double stack of sorts. The P11 is as thin as the 365.

Bought a new 43X with Ameriglo sights today. Felt better in my hand than the 43 or 365. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get to the range until next week. Looking forward to the first range day.

No. Other than the the 365 I don’t see any other gun replacing my 43. Certainly not the 43x or 48.

No. I have a 43, 43x, and a 48. I like them all. The 43x and the 48 are great but the 43 is still better for really deep concealment/ pocket carry.

    I think they'll call it the 43z.

Get the Glock 43 with a Pearce + 1 magazine extension and be done with it all.

The G43 has its purpose and will stick around. I have a P365 but lost confidence in it having to send it back twice to Sig for a broken trigger spring and a broken striker. I even carried my P365 for a month not knowing the striker was broken and would not fire. When I took it to the range and it just went "click" with the first round, it sent a chill down my spine as I carried this as my CCW. Sig was quick to fix these issues and get it back to me and my P365 has been fine ever since (800 rds). My confidence in it is still shaken and it is a range gun for now. My G43 on the other hand, has never malfunctioned. I am gravitating to my G48 as my CCW. It is approx the same height as my G43 with Taran Tactical +2 baseplates and offers 2 more rounds. I also find the grip perfect for my medium size hands.

The 43 is obsolete for me. I EDC a Glock 19, I tried to like the 43 - really tried (owned 9-10 of them, but whose counting) but really, I just never enjoyed shooting it. And life is too short to own a gun that you don't like shooting.

For me, the Glock 26 is as small a gun as I want to carry on a daily basis. Even with that said, I am not a fan of the 26 - don't like the rear grip hump, fortunately for me I found one that had a grip reduction done to it, it fits me perfect.

I've shot the SIG P365 - o.k. gun, shot like the 43 to me. Maybe a little bit better trigger, but really at this point I'm not buying any SIG. (I carried SIG DA/SA pistols for 15 years as my duty/off duty gun, was a SIG armorer, and have trained with SIGARMS in the past.)

So for me, the 43 is kind of obsolete at this time.

The G43 is great because it is the size of a small, easy to carry revolver with at least 2 more rounds standard capacity (6+1 vs 5). Add a +1 magazine extension, and the G43 has even more capacity. The 9mm round has more power than .38 Special.

If you need even more capacity, carry a spare magazine. The G43 is just fine and ideal for deep concealment. The small grip length is important to my discreet carry needs in a pocket or OWB under a shirt.

That being said, I'd love to see a G43 with a slightly wider magazine, like the G43x/G48, holding 8 rounds standard.

exactly. the 43x should have been made with a small grip. maybe in the future. maybe not. seems the decision makers did not want to disrupt their own business... a perfect strategy for failure going forward.
