I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the nine inch 9mm barrel for the G17, G34 & 17L from Lone Wolf.

If they made one of those in 10 mm I would buy one.

Wow and to think 17L's are long to begin with. Curious about the velocities with that barrel.

    I'm not positive but I think LWD only offers the 9" barrels in 9mm & 40 S&W

    http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Products.aspx?CAT=240

I have the 10" and 16" Impulse barrels from IGB and they work fine. The 16" shoots low, but it could be fixed by adjusting the sights.

I did purchase the 10" & the 16" from Marc at MDW, he's a good guy to work with.

I'd like to see 10mm velosities coming out of a 10" barrel.

I took my LWD 9" and the IGB 16" out and tested them.

All of the digital electronic target movers were broken at the range I went to so that put a crimp in my testing right off. I was guessing at the range I was shooting out so this turned out to be more of a functionality test.

The 9" barrel functioned fine, it shoots a tad high, maybe 1/2" at 50 feet - no big deal, I could adjust the sights for it. I didn't have any problems feeding or cycling, I decided not to try to test accuracy because I was guessing at the distance but here is a 4 round shot group from about 10 yards, offhand, (thought I had 5 rounds in the magazine):

And I just realized that I had this target upside down when I put the rulers on it - there should be two holes on top, one hole on the bottom.

I found out that my 17L and G34 slide cycle fine with the 16" IGB barrel - without the piston and the gas chamber screwed on.

Although some of the brass ejection was a little funky. I had one case flip directly up onto the top of the slide and spin there for about 3 seconds. Another was lobbed slightly over the slide to the left, only rising about a half inch before landing between my support hand and the frame...

    Hot hot hot...

This doesn't happen when I have the gas chamber and piston ring installed on the IGBs...

But I didn't have any stove pipes or jams.

I did have a failure to fire once, it was Wolf ammo and when I looked at the primer - it had a good sized dent in it. It was no dimple, or shallow dent, it was a significant strike. I've seen shallower marks on spent casings - it was just a bad round, had nothing to do with the gun or the barrel..

The 16" barrel is very unforgiving of any mistakes. I think having that long of a barrel with a lock up - just isn't that accurate of a setup. If I really concentrated I could get OK groups, but any little mistake and I was off by 2 or 3 inches. I was creating 6" shot groups at 10 yards with the 16" barrel. I can shoot the Glock barrel offhand more accurately that I can shoot the 16" with a stock. But my next time out with it will be with the Hyskore rest, we'll see how it does.

I'll see how the LWD 9" barrel does against the other barrels - the stock 17L, 10" and 16" IGBs when fired from a bench rest my next time out, but I'm fairly happy with what I've seen so far.

    CZ,

Ha! That 9" barrel is over the top! I LIKE IT!

You planning on doing any chronograph work with that barrel as it sits in the 17L?
