Some claim they drop free faster in competition. However, any Pinewood Derby kid can tell you their logic is flawed. Sucks up recoil in near-empty mags. Not sure why you'd want it outside of competition.

I have those on all my carry mags. You can't argue with 22 +1 in your carry G17!!

    Ok, I'm kidding.

They're fine. I prefer Arrendondo, but just as many guys are running Taylors or Dawsons. The way they attach seems "clunky". They have kind of a back door that you have to screw on and screw off, then slide the baseplate off the front (if I recall). Arrendondos are lights and slide down the top, then the base secures on with snap clips. You need a tool either way, but the Arredondos are a little nicer (and lighter)

I like my guns light--the cost is about the same for all 3.

Thanks Dan. The design does seem less streamlined but I guess I was just mainly curious as to whether anyone could notice a benefit from the extra weight of the brass.

I'll probably just stick with something more common like the Arredondos :)
