    Ahh, I see.
You visited two weeks too early.
Arizona Bike Week starts Thursday and goes to the following Sunday here in Phoenix.

    BTW, what do you ride?
This is gonna be the first bike I actually own.

That's a cool looking bike. For me, the less chrome the better :)

What do I think about you getting the Nightster? I think that you'll need to get ready to hear from the "real Harley" riders that you're riding a chick bike.

My suggestion is to pay a visit to Race Tech and have them beef up the suspension for you and go do some twisties riding. A well set-up Sportster can provide some serious entertainment in the canyons.

You know that it's true. The first time the poor guy pulls up at a Harley group ride or a Harley hang out, some weekend warrior all dudded up like a member of the Hell's Angels will tell him that he's riding a chick bike.

I'm not worried about the comments I'll get.
The guys I ride with are cool, but give me **** all the time for riding someone else's Harley (my bro's), so at least this one is mine.
Besides, one of the guys rides a tricked-out Honda cruiser, so I can always deflect comments to him by saying, "At least mine is a Harley".
That, and I'll comment on how well it matches my Glock!

A "chick bike"? Them's fightin words, H. This is one of my other babies....1988 XLH which is faster than my Speed Triple to 50mph (after that it's toast), but it's yet to meet any normally aspirated HD big twin it can't eat. But, that's not saying much. The mods I've done on this one myself could fill a post. It's crude, it's unrefined, but it will put your dental work in your colon. HH

Maybe, but watching that weekend warrior run his bike over the curb because he's only been riding 3 months (and 50 miles, since the bar is 2 miles from his house!) will make it all worth it.....:animlol:

None of the Harley riders I know would make fun of it (other than some friendly ribbing, over a beer maybe!) That Nightster looks pretty sweet! I'm in the process of blackout out my Glide (got the powdercoated forks, and new blacked out wheels on order.)

In my experience... If you can ride well, then you can ride whatever the heck you want.

Ya, the "real" Harley guys are going to pick on you. Here's some retorts:

"If I didn't actually use the last half of the carburetor slide, I'd probably be content to put around on a pig bike like yours."

"So _____, did you ever find your rev-limiter? Cause your bike still sounds like it's always idling."

"You have speed rated tires... on that? *snicker*"

I'd definitely get a big heavy bike like yours, if I had the application. As it is I don't take that big girl of yours for too many rides... on the street."

I still think that the Sportster could use the Race Tech suspension refurbishment to make it more fun in the twisties.
