Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority; the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities (and the smallest minority on earth is the individual).

Ayn Rand, born February 2nd, 1905. :birthday:

I was just thinking it was about time to re-read "Shrugged".

It's hard to believe Ayn was two year younger than my grandfather.

    Happy Birthday Ayn!

Doesn't matter. You're not invited to the Bday party anyway. No cake for you! :tongueout:

Big Fan here, I read Atlas Shrugged last year, read The Fountainhead, and Anthem this year.
I would Start with Anthem if I were starting over, then Atlas Shrugged.

Have been thinking the same thing lately, what with all that's been going on and all. Bet it will really hit home.
