Looks like I may be in Kansas City around the 20th and 21st of Sept. and was wanting to know about the Hallsville match. How long of a drive is it from KC? Is the range easy to find? For you shooters that have attended this match before does it run pretty smooth so that I could get 4 catagories shot in one day? I am hoping to make it there so any info on this match is appreciated. Thanks, Bruce
PS. I should get a long distance award coming from Washington state shouldn't I? LOL

It's a good 2 - 2.5 hours from KC depending on what part of town your in. The range is nice, but last year on Sat. it was really busy. I was there at 8 ish, shot 2 classes and finished about 12:30. They got off to a rough start last year, but by mid morning had things running pretty smooth. As I said, the main problem was it seemed everyone came on Sat. It may be a long day, but I'm planning on shooting 4 classes this year on Sat. Hope you make it.

I've only shot the Hallsville match once, and LOVED it. It is a beautiful range and the RO's were great.

    Have a ball...............I'm envious!

Like jjayh said, it ran kind of slow last year on Saturday. I got there around 11:00 and almost didn't get to finish. The big bottleneck was on the plates. I think I'll shoot them first this year, just in case.

When I shot there the year before, I was able to get three runs in easy, and could have shot a fourth.

The range is pretty easy to find.

Been there several times- I found in the last two years that late Saturday afternoon or early Sunday morning is the least crowded.

Still need to build or buy a plate rack to practice on. I just love the sound it makes!

I was down there last year on Sunday. I got there at 9:00 and was done in about 45 minutes( just shot one class). It was nice to have no long waits on Sunday, but on a Saturday you get the chance to watch many more shooters and socialize more. So, I guess it depends on your schedule and which may be more enjoyable for you.
Nice range. I was also down there this past May for the Bianchi Cup finals. Nice friendly folks.

I'll be there on Sat. too. Coming from N. St. Louis County.

I just got my G22 back from Matt K. of Custom Glock Racing and I'm confident that his work plus a little more practice ahead of time will improve my score greatly over the last time I shot a GSSF match in '01.

    Dee,
Yes, I will be there on Saturday. I plan to fly into KC on Friday evening and then drive onto Columbia so that I can get to the range earlier than last year.;)

Let me know what color and style your 17L is waiting to escort and I will make sure that I have a mount dressed in its Sunday's best to escort your 17L to the dance.:) :) :)

    As always, Best regards,

The wife and I will be shooting (3) classes each on Sunday. This was our first GSSF match in 1998 and we havn't missed a year yet. We shot in a downpour in 1999 but John and all the the people At Green Valley made even that day a truly enjoyable time. We've also been treated to Mr. B.Carver's fine shooting each year and by following his and others "Tips From The Pros" last year I was able to have two sub-four second runs on the plates. Thanks Bobby!! Hope to see a lot of you GLOCKTALK people there;a

    G21H30,
I appreciate your kind and generous words.:) :)

My wife and I will be there this year. I will be shooting on Saturday and heading onto Lexington, Ky to visit with my parents and then onto Conyers the end of the week.

I hope that we will see you and your wife.

    Best regards and drive safely,
    Bobby
