Has anyone else had this problem? I had 2 rounds from 2 different set of magazines jam today. I spent 200 rounds, w/o hearing protection (wont forget that again lol). But what happened is, I was just shooting not fast, I was taking my time and really trying to aim. and then the next rounded chambered and my trigger was frozen open. I pulled it and it wouldn't squeeze. i was like "what the h***" and the breech was cracked open about a half an inch i could see the brass in there. It was partly in the barrel part out. I was able to get 1 out by pulling ridiculously hard on the slide n it popped out. the 2nd time I was pullin the slide n pullin the slide and it wouldn't spit the round, so i just kind of hit the slide with my palm n it slammed closed. I was kinda nervous at first to shoot that round but i figured what the heck, and it shot fine and gun spit it out fine?

Is there something I should be doing differently?:dunno:

What kind of gun? What kind of ammo? Any mods or aftermarket parts, especially barrels?

As Forrest Gump so eloquently said, "It happens."

Yes, I have. No more details are needed than you've already provided: Ammo was out of spec and would not allow barrel to go fully into battery. Your Glock functioned as designed by not firing out of battery. Who made the ammo? Reloads?

I'm going to assume it was crappy ammo. I forgot to put the ammo specs and that it was a Gen 3 Glock 19, brand new, in the first post. my bad
I had 115 gr Whitebox Winchester ammo. I was just kind of surprised there were 2 rounds out of 200 that jammed.

If it were to happen again, and I can't get the slide to open back up and there is a live round in the chamber. what would be the best course of action?

I've had that happen on aftermarket barrels. If it happens again and seems stuck tight, try hitting the back of the slide with the heel of your palm. That will put it in a position where you can shoot it. Of course, that doesn't address what is causing it in the first place.

Reloads do that with my LW 40-9 barrel. Needless to say I won't shoot anymore reloads until I'm rollin' my own.

If you can't get it back open, try to get it closed...and put the round down the tube... it's bad news either way.

Sounds like crappy ammo. I would be far more concerned with your imminent hearing loss than a couple jams.

yea... forgot the plugs at home. The only place to shoot round here was like a half hour awa. my ears still kinda hurt. I only did it one other time when i was in the military. They had me put pencil erasers in my ear and call it even.

Did you clean the gun before you shot it? That could be part of the problem...some people will say that you can shoot a gun right out of the box but when I bought my Glock, i stipped it down and cleaned it right away...I have not had any problems in over 3000 rounds....
