Very cool. Far to expensive for a range curiosity only, for me.

But very cool, always loved how those things looked and loved the real one I got to shoot once.

Can still sell it now if you act fast before word spreads.

If I lived in a free state I would be seriously tempted to buy one then get it SBR.

Those where the **** back when I started. LE hadn't yet embraced AR15s as a general issue gun and shotgun choices were limited.

HK has already been selling or at least advertising something very similar, the SP5K, although with a plastic lower for a year or more. Guess I'll keep mine until the next big scare. It's a fun gun, but in the real world after the first few trips to the gravel pit, it just kind of becomes a bullet eater. Ammo better put to use in my Glocks and S&Ws.

Because they are so friggin' cool, and because in a world of uncool compromise, some don't.

About 3/4 are of all guns are sold for the same reason that people buy sports cars, motorcycles, etc..... they're freekin' cool. I know folks who have custom 1911's that cost way more than a new MP5. Not my cuppa but, hey, that's why their paycheck goes into their account and not mine.

SP5K available now doesn't have the paddle mag release and no threaded or tri lugged barrel. This model will have both.

For full auto, like it was designed for. Too bad most of us plebes don't have the shekels for a transferable one.

The SP5K is just a bulky, outrageously priced curiosity. A G19 with a 33 round stick is more effective.

That's right, forgot that. A paddle mag can be installed pretty easily on the 5K, the 89 should be the same.

I'll just stick with my MP5-A5 chambered in .22LR. If its going to be a bullet eater, at least the bullets are cheap.

It might be more concealable but not sure about more effective (and who CCWs a 33 round mag?). If I knew I was going into a fight and those were my two choices I'd take the HK every time.

No interest. Too many good PCC/Pistols available to want an outdated relic at a premium price

    Who CCW’s an MP5?

No .mil or PD has ever bought MP5’s that were semi auto only. That’s not where those guns shine.

I get it, they’re cool as **** but they’re made for one specific purpose; and most of us can’t buy one in said specific configuration. They lose all practicality in a semi configuration, especially with no shoulder stock.

I’m not saying something like an SP5K is useless, but it is neutered in every usable way and will present some difficulty unless you dedicate yourself to learning the platform.

I’d hardly call the MP5 an outdated relic. And neither would many Police forces or militaries around the world. I’d have one over any of the new, plastic PCC stuff every day of the week.
