This video is of a very small gyrocoptor and shows how they handle flying at low speeds and very low altitudes:

Quite a few experienced helicoptor pilots here...
Anyone suicidal enough.. I mean brave enough to try this?
(this one is not not a gyrocopter)

I'll bite. What was "extreme" about the first video?

Nothing of course... its just the title of the video.
It does demonstrate how safe a gyrocoptor can be..
He cuts power and lands gently.

If I ever took up flying, I'd learn to fly a glider. Being in that beauty and hearing VRRRRRRRRWHRRRRRRRRRRR all the time is annoying.

My toes curl up contemplating the sheer number of parts that have to keep working perfectly.... or you fall ... straight down .... :alex:

But I run aero mechanisms and structures to death for a living, so I don't need much imagination to visualize 'catastrophic failure' .....:wow:

A gyro is the closest I ever came to the feeling I got in "flying" dreams.

    Freefall was the second closest.
