Rent before you buy is a rule I mostly live by - LOL!
Sometimes that's not possible and sometimes I just don't care.
The guns I thought I wanted till I rented and/or shot them?
    1) HK P7M8 9mm (the squeeze cocker freaked me out and I couldn't hit anything with it).
    2) Beretta 92FS 9mm (cycled like butter and grouped like a shotgun).
    3) Walther PPS 40 S&W (too much recoil for me, 9mm is fine).

    Yes the ultimate test!

M&P 2.0. Pistol just does not fit me well and with the trigger breaking way far back just made that worse. I have larger hands but I can do fine with an out of the box Glock 19 as far as fitting me OK and shooting well.

HK USP Compact. I just could not shoot that one well either.

.460 Weatherby MKV. My first shot was the most accurate one. I don't just flinch..I do a full blown cringe.

S&W Sigma. Liked the GLOCKesque idea until I shot one. I'll never know how the hell they ever sold more than one.

The newer sig Pseries. I have a 226 (rail) and a 239. Among the worst triggers I've used. Wife was a sig fan and carried a west german 226 originally. Loved it. She bought the new one and was horrified at how bad it was. We ended up getting her a G35 instead

    ‘Remlin’ Marlin 1894 .357.

Had a huge sharp burr on the mouth of the chamber and took at least twice working the lever to chamber a round.

Two trips to the gunsmith made it no better so I got my money back.

The Glock 30S. Don’t get me wrong, it is an awesome gun; however, I “limp wristed” too much. I ended up with quite a few failures. Not the gun’s fault--only mine.

    One comes to mind....

I bought a Savage 24C 'Camper's Companion' (.22/20 ga) a few years back (along with the odd brown and tan vinyl takedown case), minty for just under $400.

The .22's trigger pull was incredibly heavy; I mean heavy to the point of 4-inch+ groups at 25 yards....

Any semi-auto AK-type rifle/carbine. Heavy, pistol sights, just don't like them.
Owned two different ones, let them go within a year.
Would rather have a good SKS.

Beretta apx the sights on that thing are horrible and you would have better luck doing your own dentistry on yourself then getting them off that gun
