I have around $700 to $800 I can spend on a new firearm purchase and I'm looking for suggestions on what I should get. I'm looking for something a little unusual, or perhaps something optics ready, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Edit: I am mainly looking for something fun. I have many carry guns, guns I can use for home defense, hunting, plinking, etc. Just looking to see what other people enjoy shooting and having fun with. Something a little unusual that isn't in every gun video and article you look at.

I’m sure you will get some great ideas.

I like rimfires, so i would recommend a nice rimfire such as a Ruger 10-22 or a CZ bolt action with a nice rimfire scope and a Ruger rimfire pistol, either a Mark 4 or perhaps the new LCP 2 in .22lR

these would both fit within your budget and you can shoot them cheaply in high volume.

Some more info on what you’re looking for would be helpful in making the best suggestion.

    Handgun or long gun?
    Sport shooting or defensive tool?
Calibers you’re like or don’t like?
How often will you be able to shoot it?

Wow, that's about as vague as it gets.

Fpr starters are you leaning towards a long gun or handgun?

Spend some time at your LGS. Take all the time you need and enjoy yourself looking and fondling as many guns you want. Bet you can find something you like.

for past couple decades, unusual; interesting; having character, generally leads to the used/consignment display/rack...

Ruger has the new 5.7 mm pistol that is optics ready and the price is in your range. However, an optic does price you out.

There’s always an MOS Glock, CZ-P10F, or a used FN FNX 45 Tactical.

I held and dry fired this the other day and it's one of the best feeling guns I've held in a while. I'm not even a Sig guy. Worth checking out.

If you keep an eye out, you may be able to find a shooter grade M1 Garand close to the $700-800 mark. Saw a few at a local gun show this weekend... and if I didn’t already have two I would have probably picked another up. As far as pistols go... in the past month I’ve picked up a HK P2000 and a Beretta 92a1 for $350 each plus background check out the door. My next sub $700 purchase will probably be a CZ 9mm of some sort. Just depends what I happen to come across. Check the used sections. I haven’t purchased anything NIB for nearly two years... and have come out ahead every time. It would definitely help if you had a general direction in which you were looking for.

Last year I was able to find a Sig p320 with 3 mags for $325. And it’s been one of my favorite purchases in a while.

I ordered the stribog a few days ago. Just the waiting game now. Doesn't help that I'm impatient

By the time you pay the sales tax $800 dollars does not buy that much in new firearms. It is too bad but inflation is a fact. :faint:
