just want cause they are cool.
This is my go to for the lust category. Its a .22 match rifle-rimfire-feinwerkbau is known for their Olympics shooting type air guns. They are very cool also.
Probably never own one, have no real use for it but wouldn't it be cool to just pull out of the gun safe and admire once in a while.
Can't load the .22 pic for some reason. Here is an example of their match air rifles.

What's your lust for it gun?

A Holland & Holland Best Grade double rifle in .577 Nitro Express but at $180,000 not happening.

A more reasonable but still unrealistic gun would be a Butch Searcy double in .577, more like $25,000.

Edited to add that I think thick barreled, classic English doubles are the most elegant of all modern firearms. Don

I would also like a big bore double, even though I would probably be afraid to shoot it.

A pair of Colt SAA's, .45 Colt with 4.75 bbls, blue/case with ivory grips
Prelock Smith Model 629 Mountain gun
(these I would technically use, but don't really need)

A Ruger 5 shot Super Blackhawk Bisley in .454. Again I would "use" it. Don't need it but it would be fun.

I picked up a 454 Alaskan a few months ago...just because. I have ammo, just have not got around to shooting it yet. I get the feeling once I do I will prefer an uppercut to the sack rather than shoot it again...but who knows. At least it shoots 45LC too, that should be pleasant enough.

I had had one of those airweight snub nose 357's. S&W 360PD, about 13oz empty. One word description - obnoxious. I got 40 rounds into a 50 round box, called it good when it drew blood. It's amazing how much difference a few ounces make. I have a 357 LCRX now, 17oz. Ran a box of 38+P and another box of 357 all in one range visit, would have shot more if I hadn't ran out of time.

This ^^^^. While I shoot a lot more than 4 guns, I’m very fortunate to have many “safe queens”’ in my collection that are more collector grade (in some cases NIB) than shooter grade.

Current want is a KBI Russian SVD, one of the hundred that came in in ‘94.

Understood, I think I'd probably shoot a very few rounds of full power stuff occasionally. I'd use some of the reduced load data that is out for them for 90+% of all shooting. Even half of full power in a .577 Nito is nothing to sneeze at but the weight of the gun would mitigate the perceived recoil. Don

95% of the guns I buy I have no real use for. They’re just range fun and investments. That’s enough use for me.

I bought one back in the late 70's for $57. Never regretted buying it and very infrequently carry it, but would never sell it. Ultra concealability in unusual places. Pretty accurate too!

1928 Thompson , with all accessories including 50 round drum, in the fitted FBI case.

The "use " I would have for it would be the use it was made for.

Just give me that one and I won't bore you with the GIGANTIC list of other stuff I lust after.

A S&W M-39, I mean right this minute. It can change instantly looking at a used rack theres a lot Ive had my eye on for awhile. Like a Colt Dick SPL in good condition. I have a Win M-70 in .375 HH thats shoots sweet as butter and I'd like one in .458 Win, or .416 Rigby, oe even .404 Jeffrey, just in case a Lion escapes from the zoo and I have to rush to the rescue of the threatened super model.

Serious tho I like shooting the thumpers. Heres a place I go to occasionally to dream even tho I need one like a hole in my head. I just want to hold one in my hands after shooting them a few times. https://shilohrifle.com/
