I see there has been some postings on this subject. I guess I would ask what determines what is considered a good quality safe, what should one be looking for. Also who makes decent or good quality safes and what is considered a decent price. I am looking to store guns and important papers. Looking at about 10 rifles and 10 handguns, ammo, and important papers. Any thoughts?

I bought a Sentry Legal Size two drawer fireproof lockable file cabinet. The top drawer is almost all guns while the bottom is house deeds and mortgage papers. Since the deeds are to income producing property the cost was deductible on my income tax return.

I like it because it doesn't look like a gun safe that someone would want to carry off, if they could. I actually keep some very heavy investments in the bottom drawer to increase it's weight.
