NY drivers suck! ticket them all!
I was against giving that chick a pass because she was ignorant of New York and New York City gun laws, but I change my mind now. She's cute!!!
Anyone who works in healthcare knows the nursing field is comprised mostly of idiots. Meredith Graves is no exception.
If they really want to get NYC just stop shipping whiskey to them. Hit them where it really hurts
Meh, I understand the sentiment, but the result will be that any NY licensed person that gets a ticket in Tennessee will now get off scott free as what they are proposing will be a blatant violation of the "equal protection" clause. You just can't target people selectively with law. The courts will throw it out.
Really? You may want to keep that sentiment to yourself when you end up being cared for by one. They are a hard working and grossly underpaid profession.
1) The representative mentioned in the article sounds like a bafoon. Makes the rest of us Tennesseans look bad.
2) I don't think TN highway patrol would be necessarily "gunning" for NY drivers. They go after anybody. By the way, TN state troopers are incompetent bafoons too.
3) Yes, Ms. Graves may have been ignorant of NY & NYC gun laws, but that shouldn't excuse her from being dealt with. I truly hate it for her, but any person who carries and plans to travel needs to check local laws before they go there just to make sure they keep themselves from getting in any trouble. That's just common sense and is something that is even taught in CCW classes.
Spoken like a true idiot.
+1. My wife is a nurse, not only is she highly intelligent (and a shooter, her CCW is a Glock23) but her nurse friends are as well.
The way to get the point across would be legislation that states that since New York doesn't recognize a license issued by the state of Tn. then Tn. will no longer consider a drivers license issued in NY as valid and will fine or jail drivers accordingly.
That would be interesting to do, however, it's federally mandated that all states driver licenses are reciprocal in all 50 states + all our territories. There's actually a proposal in legislation to make the same reciprocation happen for gun carry permits in all 50 states. I personally hope that happens.
This. Well said.
You, uh, misspelled "buffoon"...
Thanks for the correction.
The schooling for it is harder than a lot of bachelor programs. Even with the LPN program, if you make less than a C you have to retake the whole program.
Wraps myself in my state flag and hosts the Stars and Bars of the old Confederation! Since Tennessee is leading the charge against the North who is with US!!!!!!
Texas you owe us get your butts up here!!
I think the lesson to be learned here is that we've all been made into lawbreakers by the plethora of laws made by "lawmakers" (who, as shown by their moniker, seem to have little else to do). I think the best thing then to do is to attempt to not be caught.
The lady tried to comply with the law when she saw the sign that firearms were not allowed. She was ignorant of part of the law. The idea of "ignorance of the law is no excuse" is BS. There are so many laws that knowledge of all of them is impossible, even for those who make or enforce them, let alone the poor subjects that are terrorized by them.
Looks like we got a moron in this thread
