    Gun Control Texas Style!

Last Thursday night around midnight, a woman from Houston , Texas was ...arrested, jailed, and charged with manslaughter for shooting a man 6 times in the back as he was running away with her purse.

The following Monday morning, the woman was called in front of the Arraignment Judge, sworn-in, and asked to explain her actions.

The woman replied, "I was standing at the corner bus stop for about 15 minutes, waiting for the bus to take me home after work. I am a waitress at a local cafe. I was there alone, so I had my right hand on my pistol in my purse hanging on my left shoulder. All of a sudden I was spun around hard to my left. As I caught my balance, I saw a man running away with my purse. I looked down at my right hand and saw that my fingers were wrapped tightly around my pistol. The next thing I remember is saying out loud, "No Way Punk! You're not stealing my pay check and tips." I raised my right hand, pointed my pistol at the man running away from me with my purse, and started squeezing the trigger of my pistol.

When asked by the arraignment judge, "Why did you shoot the man 6 times? The woman replied under oath, "Because, when I pulled the trigger the 7th time, it only went click."

The woman was acquitted of all charges. She was back at work the next day! That's Gun Control, Texas Style

Glade she was acquitted. I live in Houston and I did not see this one on the news or internet.

Too much crime in this city. A lot of my friends are starting to carry.

You can't make a response like that up. Great mindset, and apparently, great follow-through for her follow up shots!

    Thanks for posting DW

Back when I was flying out of Galveston I use to see a lot of Houston news on TV and in the paper.

A Houston old man was regularly attacked and his SS check taken by local punks. The old man got a gun. Next time he shot and killed the punk. The investigating officer said it looks like a good shooting but tell me one thing, how is it you shot the guy 12 times with a six shot revolver?
The old man said, "I reloaded".
    Ruled a good shoot.

A (black) guy I worked with offshore lived in Louisiana. One weekend the man took his family to Houston for a fun trip.
That night some punks broke onto his van and trashed it. He loved that van.
When the young (white) policeman was taking the report he asked the (big) man, What would you have done if you caught those thieves?
Red (as he is called) told the policeman, "I would have shot their mother ******* ***".
The policeman said, "You have a gun with you?"
Red said, "Yeah, a MF .357 magnum"
Policeman said, "Good, you need a gun in Houston"

BTW, in the original story the woman would have been legal to shoot the thief as he ran away with her property.
In Texas it's legal to use deadly force to protect or recover your property.
