What's so funny? You're a slave to your own delusions about human nature. Your world only exists inside that extremist head of yours. I pity you. And I say that being 100% serious... I'm not angry with you, it depresses me knowing there are people like you out there... living sad existences, stepping on people to get ahead.

I sleep like a baby everynight with my conscience. Knowing I didn't let the rat race claim my soul.

    Do you?

Do you suppose it's possible that to bring a product like say, fiber optic cable to market (enabling us to have this discussion over the 'net) a little extremism is perhaps necessary?

Do you think that a farmer gets his crop to market by being concerned with anything other than the wellbeing of he and his family?

If he can't depend on the free market to reward that self-interest, do you think you're going to be able to count on groceries being on the shelf at your local market when you need them?

What do you believe motivates people to make the sacrifices that result in the products you want and need being available if it isn't pure self-interest? I mean really, do you believe that the market cares at all about you personally?

That laughter is funny coming from a guy who wants to liquidate the Social Security fund and put it in the general budget or falsely claiming it doesn't exist, (despite the fact that it is still solvent for a few more years), kind of like the EU and the Govt of Cyprus are raiding private ban accounts.

I guess if the Social Security fund is taken and redistributed for the good of whole society that isn't socialism?

Don't worry. The teat will be there for you. It may be a bit chapped by the time you reach it, but it'll be there.

Here's hoping yours is toward the front!

Self-gain is what motivates people... no one is arguing otherwise. At what point did debating the ethics of scalping ammo become a... "Omg an attack on capitalism."

I mean it's a good way to get people on your side, don't get me wrong. Especially those who don't take the time to read the entire thread, and don't realize no one ever attacked free-enterprise or capitalism.

Scalping ammo is a shady practice. They are not champions of capitalism.... which is what you and CF are making them out to be. No more or less shady then the guy standing outside of a concert wearing sunglasses and a hoodie.... "psst... you looking for tickets? Gonna cost you."

    I'm 25.

The phrase "nailed it" springs to mind.

No not at all I have read many of his ranting's about Social Security and he insist on interjecting in any thread, on any topic, when he finds he has backed himself in a corner.

I direct you to post # 129 in this thread,

Again, you use such terms as "scalping ammo" as if they were definitive.

It's your prerogative to use any term you wish, but it does nothing to help your position. It only makes you appear naive.

At age 25 though, it can be easily understood..
Thanks for an honest answer to the question.

    I'll disagree with you.
He has never advocated "redistribution of Social Security".

I'm confident you can't find a single post where he did so.

And without looking back through this thread, I don't recall anyone mentioning SS except yourself.

I use them as if they were definitive, because I see it as definitive. I KNOW (it's quite definite) I would feel like a tool if I were doing what 427 is doing. I KNOW I would have trouble sleeping at night.

We can use softer terms, but I don't think even you are willing to debate what they are doing is anything but scalping. Here... let's go back to "flipping" so no ones feelings are hurt.

I feel obligated to ask again - if a friend went to Walmart for you to get a couple boxes of ammunition or a friend went to a gun show and got a case (back when ammo deals could be had at shows) would it be appropriate to offer him a few dollars for gasoline or a couple dollars over the cost of the ammunition for his time?

Yes, but I think you see the distinction between that and buying out walmart's ammo supply to sell it minutes, hours, days later at an inflated price. There is a very CLEAR distinction between the two, I should not have even dignified this post with a response.

Well the fact that you don't question him posting that, in a thread on North Korea preparing for war, does confuse me as much as his doing it.
