the other night I saw a mouse on counter. It ran, jumped inside toaster....
So I grab metal plate, cover openings, take outside try to dump it out. It has crawled behind toast area to space before plastic covering....
So I leave outside, it's empty in morning...

I figure heat some older bread ( for dog, cats) the heat should sterilize it. But I find I don't want to use toaster... So guess time for a new one.

Perhaps the best choice that you have made in a while. The risks include hantavirus and salmonella, both are viruses and so are fairly difficult to kill. In hospitals, to sterilize instruments requires the use of live steam under pressure for a set time or immersion in chemical agents for predetermined times. Neither of those viruses are anything to fool around with.

Yes, everyone knows the cabinets he was running around in and the counter tops he was running around on are GTG :)

This time of year it's hard to avoid mice getting in to avoid the cold, and these are field mice not sewer rats.

it's just time to set the traps and catch the ones that make it in. happens every year.

last year I got the rolling log trap, and it really catches them better than the conventional traps. It's also easy to make with a bucket and a plastic soda bottle. Smear some peanut butter on the log and wait for them to come.

Toasters are prone to feelings of abandonment and severe depression when disposed of. They have a history of tracking down their former owners who leave them behind or dispose of them. Just something to think about.

You think quicker than me. I probably woulda fried him then said whoops.
Having said that: years ago my neighbor moved out and yard was not being maintained so i ended up with mice problem. Smell led to discovery of two fried mice on back of stove where they had chewed wire. My wife got a new stove.

Shake it outa the toaster and into the microwave! "Pop goes the weasel!" Only takes a minute.

Or, maybe it's time for a new blender?

Those bastards will even get a gang of other appliances together to help hunt you down. The vacuum will act all tough and rough, but deep down he's just a big ol' teddy bear...

If this is the case in the rest of the country, I'm happy to put up with an occasional scorpion.
