I know everyone is going to say get something else, there's many more choices. I agree but why hasn't Glock updated their GTL series of weapon lights? I have had a GTL-22 for something like 15-20 years (I can't even remember when they came out) and never have had an issue with it. With all the new LED tech and high lumens why hasn't Glock updated these 70 lumen WMLs to something with 300, 500, 800 or even 1,000?

I agree. I too wish they would do a factory update on the light.

I've also seen a few posts of people screwing up the light by doing the upgrade on their own. Something gets shorted out, apparently

I bought the upgrade LED and it's a big improvement for sure. I wanted to stay with my Glock light because it was a perfect match. But I'll admit that moving to the Streamlight below is a much much much improved situation.

Many years ago I had a GTL-22 on a G21SF. It broke off the upper rear ear on one side after a year or so. I called Glock, and they reluctantly replaced it for me but told me they would not replace it again. Of course it broke again in less than a year so I replaced it with a TLR-1 (and a new holster) and was much happier. The plastic on the GTL-22 was definitely too brittle and with the higher power of the .45 it was too much for it.

I found that broken GTL-22 a few years ago and promptly threw it away. I still have a GTL-10 I used on a G23 I carried before the 21 and never had problems with it, but it is way too low of light compared to today's far better lights. I find it astonishing that Glock still markets the GTL lights at all, especially with zero upgrades. It's like Glock just ignores certain aspects of their market for no discernable reason. A better designed Glock light with brighter bulb would probably be quite popular.

Didn't you say you recently sent your Glocklight back for repair?

I did. And that was my favorite aspect of the Glock brand light. Glock's service was awesome. But in the end, I made the mistake of trying the Streamlight.

I have two Streamlight TRLs and have owned 2 others. I like the control of the TRL the best.

But yea, I thought you sent it back because it broke when you put the LED upgrade in it...

I'll never fully know what happened. I did do the LED drop and short after, it stopped working. Glock fixed it and I returned the LED drop in. But then I wasn't happy with Xenon because I'm already spoiled by LED's.

This failed on my Glock light! Worked for like town hours and was dead after that!
I sent it back and still waiting for them!

Well this sounded promising but seems a dud.

There are many better options out there. The Glock piece is obsolete.
