I went to the gunshop for my monthly range day when i spied a beautiful CZ-85 Combat Dual-tone

i loved the grip and i loved the trigger but i have three 9mm handguns already and i really don't want to add a fourth unless i have to

    1. trade the Walther P99- i might be the only one in the world but i dislike this pistol the most out of the three, i just don' care for striker fired polymer pistols the trigger even with the AS system doesn't feel right (i know i ask myself why am i on Glocktalk too:dunno:)= but it was my first handgun ,bought it when i turned 21 and i don't know if a man should trade away his first handgun

    2. trade the Sig 228- the problem with this is it shoots great but it has dead night sights, worn hogue grips, the outer finish is worn, and i don't think i will get a non lowball price for it

    3. trade in the Walther P5 - no, it fits too good, shoots better, and if i trade it off i will not find another one

    4. just buy another pistol , sadly uncle sam pays me on the 1st and 15th and with my current expenses this may take some months (barring they send me somewhere)

so GT what would you do

That's a good looking gun. I'd trade the Walther.

Would you buy the P99 again knowing what you know now??

If the answer is 'no' then sell/trade her. If you're tying up dollars with things you don't like, then you are buying them again and again when those funds can be working for you in different ways. This works for cars, stocks, houses, jobs, etc.

I stopped worrying about trading firearms a long time ago. If I don't like it or don't shoot it frequently I will trade or sell in a heart beat.

The only firearms I tend to not sell are those I think I may never be able to get again. Your 228 and P5 fit that category.

Get rid of the 99. I did!

    :wavey:

Oh yeah, what the hell are you doing on this board if you don't like plastic fantastic striker fired pistols?

    :tongueout:

I recently traded off my first centerfire pistol, G22, for a Beretta 87T. I love the Beretta and don't miss the Glock one bit. Nothing against the Glock it just wasn't a good match for me. So if you really like the CZ and don't care much for the P99 then by all means make the trade, provided the give you a decent credit. At least that is what this random, anonymous person on the internet, giving you free advice would do in your place.

Oh, and how could you even think of trading that poor P-5?
You should take it to the range as soon as possible to soothe its feelings.

i know i'm hoping for some credit on the P99 it has only seen 100rnds through it, but if they lowball me it isn't too bad because the CZ is $500 and if they lowball me i'll just buy it outright

I would trade the P99 in a heartbeat. The 85 is a better gun all around. If you don't want a 4th 9mm then ditch the P99 and step up.

I would buy the CZ85 and shoot the hell out of it. After that, if you truly feel it's superior to any of your walther and sig, just sell that one instead.

CZ make fine product. I enjoying my 75SA very much. But if I have either one of your pistol, I couldn't make the decision of trade neither.
