Tell me more please
GSSF should help. Lots of fun at every event I have attended...... ;f
I attended my first match at Statesville this year and it was a great learning experience. I shot the plates first and for some reason I couldn't get my knees and hands to stop shaking. I choked and left 4 up on the first rack, recovered, then cleaned the next three. Go, watch, shoot and enjoy the experience. I plan on attending the match in Lexington next month.
Check out www.gssfonline.com for match schedules, maps, results, etc.
I've attended over 20 GSSF matches since 1999 and have enjoyed every one. The four closest to you might be Shreveport, LA (This Weekend), San Antonio (in December), Carrollton/Dallas and Phoenix, AZ.
Match participation ranges from 200 entries to 540 entries, the average being about 300.
Free armorer service at every match, plus an opportunity for anyone to win a Glock or one of the many cash prizes.
I think a G23 is waiting to be added to my collection...Got the best price around the area. $459..
DannyR, how does the free armorer service work?
I have attended two now, it was awesome. It is great to see so many glocks in one place, makes ya proud to be a glocker!!!!! Even my wife is hooked......tom
You just take your pistol(s) up to the armorer's tables and the factory armorer them to check the pistol(s) out. Upcoming Florida matches are:
Jan 17-18, 2004--Jacksonville
Feb 14-15, 2004--Orlando
If you do not plan to shoot, you still need ear and eye protection at a match.
I attended my first one this year and had a blast. I've already started making plans for the two Florida matches comming up next year.
I won a pistol at my first event, been hooked since then. My wife is even hooked, she says "I heart my subcompact!". Told me not to mess with her gun, leave it just the way it is.
Come out and have a great time, meet new friends and enjoy safe shooting.
