    Glock M: targets are now at 7, 11 & 15 yards instead of 10, 15 & 20 yards.

D-1 Scoring: C Zone is now +1 point instead of +2, and D Zone is now +3 instead of +5. This applies to all D-1's.

I'll have to start a new section in our Hall of Fame for 2005 scoring records.

Edited to correct D Zone scoring.

Now those changes I like. Maybe now I may even brake the sub-100 barrier. I also think I will like the new carbonless score sheets. That should speed things along and resolve questions about scores much easier, since the shooters copy will reflect exactly what is turned in to GSSF. Just patiently waiting for the other 17 unconfirmed matches to see how many I can make. Sounds like they are making progress so as long as it's being worked I can't complain.;c ;c ;c :)

    Danny,
I think the new D zone is +3.

    From hot topics:

    Stages and Scoring

Alternative paper-only courses of fire will be used at clubs who do not meet the steel requirements to host a GSSF match. Also, scoring values for C and D hits on the NRA D-1 targets have been reduced from 2 and 5 seconds respectively to 1 and 3 seconds. The GLOCK’M distances have also been reduced from 10, 15 and 20 yards to 7, 11 and 15 yards. GSSF is converting to carbonless scoresheets with labels. Now competitors will have an exact copy of their scores when they come off the line. No more trying to copy those scores on the range or at registration! These changes all have the same goal, to keep you coming to GSSF matches and create a more enjoyable experience for one and all!

In my haste and excitement I committed a typo. D Zone should be +3. Sorry for the error.

That should speed things up and lower everyone's scores. I kind of wonder what the motivation was for moving the M targets all closer. I didn't have much of a problem with them where they were.

I'm very curious to see what they'll do for Glock the plates without plates. Put up 6 plate shaped cardboard targets and have to break out the pasters between strings/shooters? Without the feedback you get from falling steel, how will you know if you got the hits?

    are misses still 10

or are they 5 (half of what they were before)?

I can see why they changed the D1 scoring, but Im curious why they would decrease the distances on the M and leave the 5 to Glock alone,

or - well, perhaps I should ask - is the 5 to Glock going to be changed too and its just not announced yet?

I'm with you Rusty. If we could just get that 25 yard target on the 5 to Glock a little closer then maybe I could at least feel like a Master Class shooter sometimes...lol

Thanks Danny for posting those. I'm optimistic now too; Don sounds so positive he could almost be a Cubs fan! ;f
(the line on them is 6:1, Tampa Bay Devil Rays are 320:1)

I plan to just enjoy, align my practice setup accordingly and try to flush that 101.30 into distant memory. ^5
    C'mon, spring.... ;T

Interesting...I guess it will take a few matches to see what strategies work the best. My best guess is that most of us will speed up a little but not to the point we loose too much accuracy. Penalties will still add up, just not quite as quickly. I haven't been to the GSSF website to check, but has the method of scoring changed other than the values for the 'C' & 'D' hits? Now if they'd just make the plates 12" we could really crank it up!!!

Not sure what this means. Will some matches be all steel (like the Gunny match), some matches a paper/steel mix (traditional GSSF), and still others paper-only?

Moving the targets closer kind of makes me wonder if perhaps there were complaints that the targets were too far away? I enjoyed the accuracy emphasis of GSSF (carries over quite well to IPSC production), and it seems the placement and scoring changes are geared towards lowering the difficulty level.
