Any of the fast powders can work for the light .45 loads. I've used WST, Clays, and Promo. Promo's kind of my new favorite since it's extra bulky, and works for light to pretty close to full power loads (in .45) and is the cheapest powder I'm aware of. It also works for every handgun cartridge I load.

Love my VV powders because they are virtually smokeless, flashless, and unaffected by temperature. Unfortunately, they are difficult to find and not cheap when you do.

I use 320 for my 9mil, but also have 340 which is a bit faster. Just never completed the .45 work-up. Some of that stuff completely disappears into the .45 case abyss.

I just recently purchased a used Gen-4 G-17 that had a slide stop lever that is made by Glock but with a trapezoid bump. Will I have to replace it to compete in amateur-guardian division ? p_100002748_1.jpg

Assuming that's a Glock extended slide stop, it's fine. Even if it's aftermarket, it provides no advantage in a GSSF match, so it's still really not an issue. I wouldn't worry about it.

I looked the part up on Brownells and it is made by Glock. I wouldn't think it gives an advantage because we don't run-and-gun in GSSF competition.

Are aftermarket magazines legal? I only have 2 10 rounders for my glock 26, but have 3 magpul 17 rounders for range use.

Technically not legal. If you use them and have a mag issue, you may not get a re-shoot. I would not use them except for practice.

Can you install a Gen 3 trigger bar and housing in a Gen 4 pistol?

Trigger bar, yes. Trigger housing, I don't think that's mechanically possible without changing the geometry of the housing.

Glock parts is Glock parts. Your 31 with a 22 barrel is fine. AFAIK, in the current .40/.357 guns, the only different part is the barrel.

Probably just in Unlimited in that configuration.

GLOCK'S armorers notes list parts NOT INTERCHANGABLE
    with gen1, 2, and 3
would you believe one of those parts it the
    TRIGGER BAR.

another one on the list is TRIGGER MECHANISM HOUSING.

I agree. Any combo of factory parts allowed.

    So these Glocks:

Would have to compete with Glocks like this...???

...But GSSF makes special concessions/allowances for stick-on additions/grip enhancers, or a G26 using aftermarket parts that genuinely changes (and improves) the firing grip of the pistol to run in "stock" division, not to mention aftermarket magwells now, many of which also change the grip in my experience... Huh. :headscratch:

How so??? I'm genuinely trying to learn/work this out cause I've been very interested in trying my hand at GSSF but haven't been keen to shoot "Unlimited" with my mostly stock Glock just because I took a Dremel to the front-strap.

It's not super clear in your pic of the two guns, but yes. Since you ground off the finger grooves on your guns, that makes them only eligible for Unlimited, which means you'll be shooting against a mix of stock guns and race guns. I'm not sure about the legality of your cut backstraps either.
