I would like to see a bullseye competition at GSSF events,
it would be for Glocks only, of course.
We could find out who is the most accurate with his stock Glock,
and what this accuracy is, also we could learn which Glock + ammo
    combination is the most accurate.
I would like answers to all these questions.

It could be a side match! I'd try it!

Or how about a 100+ yd shot on a popper, or a mini popper!

The most accurate at any Glock match, is the Matchmeister.

They'll need to save that for the "carbine" GSSF stage. ;Q I can't see 100 yards. :)

But I want to take speed out of the equation and discover the most
    accurate Glock + ammo combination.

Large scale bullseye competition would do this.

I dunno, but I shoot Bullseye and it's got 2 stages of "timed" targets-specifically "timed fire and rapid fire"so the clock is in there...As long as there is a humaniod on the trigger you ain't never gonna know which one is "the most accurate"...probably gonna need a Ransom Rest for that one.
I'd like to encourage you to shoot BE with your Glock- I do...one of the 1st things you'll find out is that the grip on a Glock is terrible for 1 handed target shooting.I strongly suggest a CARVER Mount, and the redot tube of your choice.
You WILL find that many indoor ranges will discriminate against Glocks by not allowing copper jacketed bullets(due to their backstops).
BE with a Glock is fun, especially when you clip some poor sap with 1800buckaroos invested in a 1911, and there you are with a sorry old Glock..

    Rikki,
I'm an "old" Bullseye shooter. I occassionally will shoot a Bullseye match with my Glock and continue to be amazed with the potential that the tupperware gun has. The last time that I shot a 300 match, I used a stock G37 with Winchester 230 .45 GAP ammo. I didn't shoot a 300 score but I did shoot a 290, dropping 10 points at the 50, being clean on time and rapid fire.

Maybe someday, your idea may become a reality. I would suggest that anyone that wants to try a Bullseye Glock match to host one at their local club.

    Your idea has merit,
    Bobby

I certainly hope he was using a dot, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. :)

No, I didn't use a dot. I was using iron sights. The Winchester ammo was amazingly accurate. In fact, when I shot the first string of timed fire at 25, when I checked my scope, I only saw 2 holes and I thought, "how could I have missed the entire target". When I checked the target, there were 4 shots in a cluster and 1 a little high and to the right in the 10 ring.

Of course my old eyes could not see that well without the glasses that I have had prescribed for just iron sight shooting. They are set up where I can see the front sight only with my right eye and the targets at 50 and 25 with my left eye.

Hopefully, someday we can shoot a Bullseye match together.

    Thanks,
    Bobby

Very interesting......how does that work ? Can you keep both eyes open that way ? Or do you alternate between keeping one open and the other closed.

In any case, it won't work for me. My right eye only has periferal vision, so the left has to do 'most all the work. Still it's an interesting idea.

I've tried one of those Lyman peephole things you stick on your glasses. It helps get a clearer picture of the target while focusing on the front sight.

    Ken;
Please excuse me if I am being too nosey but is your right eye problem caused by a cataract? That sounds like my left eye about a year ago. After my cataract surgery I have 20/20 in that eye, what a difference.

    Ken,
I leave both eyes open when I shoot. It works for me but I had to learn how to leave both eyes open. For years, I used a piece of tape on my left eye to relax the optic nerve and to prevent me from sqwinting or closing my left eye when I was shooting.

    Good luck,
    Bobby

    Don at PC,

I'm glad to hear that the surgery helped you out. My problem is from when I was a kid. I had this thing called 'lazy eye' I think, where my right eye got crossed. Then, as I understand it, your brain starts just ignoring the eye that's misbehaving, so that after a couple of years, you just lose sight. My left eye is OK, with some farsightedness (worse now that I'm 57), but the right is just periferal vision. Actually that helps some in shooting, because I don't have the double vision thing, but naturally not good depth perception.

    Bobby,

That's really interesting that you can have the target and sight both in focus. Must be a great help for the bullseye shooting. I'm going to be getting new glasses soon, and am thinking of getting the Varilux kind of 'bifocals' and having them set to where the middle range focuses at about front sight distance, which should work for front sight and PC monitor. Maybe that way I can focus on the sight without having to tilt my head back so far.

So did you move from that garden spot (Lubbock) to Florida !?! I used to live in Andrews, about 120 miles south of Lubbock, if memory serves.

    Ken.
