    You will love GSSF!

how do I know what class to sign up for

Am Civilian would be your best choice with a standard glock model.

how many to you sign up for

Go to GSSF online and pull up the rule book it will explain the classes and what you can sign up for. Also, check out the stickies in GSSF forum.

how do you know for what day

You can shoot saturday or sunday it is your choice

then how do I find out the laws of me travelling into a state NJ that I am not licenced in

I am sure someone from New Jersey can assist you. I believe you need to bring your own ammo (no hollowpoint) and no mags over 15 rounds. You need to triple check this before you go.

Lastley how do I prepair my kid to understand how things work there

Have him read the rule book before you go. Go in the morning and plan to shoot in the afternoon. In the morning watch others and that will take the edge off. Have him or her practice safety and practice as much as you can before you go.

does anybody know of a video we can watch to see what its all about.

Type in GSSF in youtube and it will pop up.

I hope they get the Bremerton, WA match up and confirmed.
Also it looks like they changed the Albany, OR match to Halloween weekend from it's usual August date.

I was told by GSSF that the NW matches are money losers for GSSF. They just don't get the turnout that they get back east and the expense for them coming out here cuts into any potential profit. That is probably why there are not more matches up here.

Go to GSSF website and click on the Hot Topics tab, then more info or the links.
    http://www.gssfonline.com/hot-topics.cfm
The Armorers manual and parts list is not available on the website. Those I believe are only available to qualified armorers.

I think its because they do it in Bremerton. Too far for lots of people on the other side of the water.

do it at Renton Fish and Game and they will get the numbers.

I agree, I would rather see it at Renton or Marysville, they would probably get more people to it. Even Puyallup would draw more shooters I believe.

kid, how old are we talking?

Sat or Sun it is the same either day.

Amature Civilian for sure. Another one if you want to use it for a warm up.

It depends a lot on how comfortable you are shooting 100 or so rounds at a time.

    Don't over think it.

ACCURACY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SPEED.

Take your time HIT the targets.

You can Not miss fast enough to score!

Watch each stage several times to see what is going on.

Tell the range officers at each stage that you are new. They will help you.

    Have 4 or five magazines.

Load them before you are ready to shoot, don't keep others waiting.

Get ready to look for your NEXT match.

    Probably Topton, Pa.

It's about 65 miles from Seattle to Bremerton. It's about 94 miles from my house to the closest match in Oakdale. Last year I drove to matches as far away as Missoula, Mt. and Conyers, Ga., with numerous others in between them.

65 miles to a match would be great.

Closest I've ever been to a match was 135 miles, but I've traveled nearly 500 miles one way to Ft. Benning, GA to shoot GSSF.

Not to mention the Seattle - Bremerton car ferry is about $20 for the vehicle & 2 occupants. I've ridden it.

Get three buddies together to split the costs and it would neither be that expensive nor time consuming compared to driving all the way around Olympia a couple of times.

Well, when the Shelton, WA club lost their land and GSSF was looking for a new host club, Bremerton put in a bid and no clubs east of Puget Sound did.

    Their loss, Bremerton's gain.

There's a match listed in the next county over from mine! Now I just hope I am available that weekend to shoot. It will be my first match as well. I can't wait!

Unless I'm not seeing it, there isn't a GSSF match in Oakdale yet. Hopefully it's one of the matches that isn't confirmed yet.

That's always how it goes for me, I get really excited to shoot my first GSSF match only 10 miles from home and it may not even happen.
