    DH,

I had never heard of them until I opened this thread. I did a quick Google search and found this:

    http://www.ar15armory.com/forums/Grizzly-Cartridge-Company-t74484.html

If they can really get their 180gr to push 1400 fps that would be an awesome round. I wonder what the muzzle energy would be; I would bet north of 700 (or at least I hope). From the description I'm guessing the hollow point will be very similar to this one (the one with 4 petals):

That design has interested me since I first saw the .50 GI pics of that round. I wonder how it performs vs. the standard hollow point with six smaller petals.

Hope that helps, bud. Keep me posted as you find out more.

Thanks for that link! $1.75 a round eh? Ouch! I am going to try and find out as much as I can and post back. And if anyone else knows a little more, I'd love for you to chime in. Thanks!!

    Yep. Quite a bit north of 700. A 180 grainer @ 1400 fps would have 783 ft/lb ME. Nice.

    I wouldn't trust a 10mm on a large grizzly at all.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the ammunition is meant to be used on Grizzly bears. The company's name is actually Grizzly Cartridge Co.

I'm thinking 15-30 rounds of 10mm would stop most land mammals including grizzly bears, large lions, and probably polar bears if you managed to get all the shots off to hit the creature in a short amount of time.

There's a difference between hunting, with the goal of dropping an animal humanely in one shot, and self-defense, where as many shots as needed can be used.

But why all this talk about killing cute fuzzy 700-lb meat eating forest creatures that will tear you limb to limb? Just don't wear the meatball necklaces and everything should be fine.
