Any one using these grips for competition or 3 gun? If so, which one are you using granulate or rubber.
    Thanks, John

Plenty of IDPA in my day.

Never messed with the grip....never had a problem with the grip either.

What issue is trying to be solved?

keeping the gun down and straight, also keeping a good firm grip without sliding off. Question, have you ever used a magwell for ease of loading and keeping hand up from bottom of grip. Thanks, John

I'm going the other way. I have the ruber Decal Grip on my G35/22, Sand Talon on my 19 and rubber Talon on my 30. I will be switching to the rubber Decals on the 19 & 21.

If I recall correctly the rubberized grip is a more recently released product and more will have the granulate grips. It is up to you and your preferred feel

As others have suggested, Granulate is the way to go.
I would skip the Talon grips and buy a roll of 3M Grip tape.
One roll with last for years. Grip tape or sharp checkering is a must for me for those (hot and humid as hell) Mississippi summers.
In the pic below, I only have some grip tape on the top G34 but both of them usually have it on the back, sides and front of the grips.

I have the rubber for my G23. Granulate would eat a chunk out my love handles when carrying under my Hawaiian shirt, lol. I even have pull my skivvies up to keep the rubber from sticking to me. Works fine in our USPSA style shoots.

which one is thinner out of the two?

I did have Decal rubber grips on my 17 and 30. But overall I hated them because they made the grip a little more thicker which I did not like so I removed them. The grip of the glock is a perfect fit for me. I would like some sort of grips... but I want it to be as thin as possible so it doesn't change the thickness of the grip too much.

I just put some rubber talons on my gen 4 19 since it will be against my skin. And it grips fine for me. Although I do use skateboard tape on my duty gun.
