I have never shot any red ones before, but I got 5 of them now. Not much meat on them though.
Here are the other ones.
I wish I had gotten a couple of grays like this. He hunted in the evening the same spot I got the three reds in the morning, but I didn't see any grays.
Have you tried eating the red ones yet?
The only time I tried some they tasted terrible.
The gray's are fine. My son shot his first 2 Squirrels on Saturday. I had the leftover stew for lunch yesterday.
Both people I asked about them told me they wouldn't eat the red ones, so no.
yeap they are notvery tasty. Alot work for such a little animal. the best hunting squirrels are the bushy foz but they are illegal to hunt in my state.
A friend that lives north of my town has some HUGE foxes in his woods, but I don't get up there to hunt that much. I have another that has lots of grays, but the one I hunted the other day is really the only one I can just go and hunt anytime.
